Last year, I wrote a couple of books documented the process from start to finish and published them on Amazon. I did nothing else with them, just published and left them there. A year later, I am still making sales each month, so this year it’s time to write another and do it via a “write along”
Most people think writing a book is some massive undertaking reserved for authors with publishing deals, six months of free time, and a cosy cabin in the woods.
It isn’t.
Although I often fancy myself as a Ewan Mcgregor style character (In Moulin Rouge not Transpotting!) in a garret in Paris…
A book can be whatever you want it to be. A ten chapter deep dive into your favourite topic.
A curated collection of your best articles.
A short guide that brings clarity to a messy topic.
Even a mini-book can change the game for you.
A Book Lets You Go Deep
Articles are great for sparking interest, but a book lets you explore your favourite topics without limitation.
You can give context, tell the whole story, and connect the dots in ways an article never could.
Depth is where authority comes from. When people want answers, they trust the person who went all the way in, not the one who skimmed the surface.
A Book Becomes Your Platform
Having a book instantly shifts perception. It says you’ve organised your knowledge, thought it through, and cared enough to package it into something lasting.
People introduce you differently when you’ve written a book. You’re no longer “someone who posts online.” You’re an author.
And that changes how your audience sees you too.
A Book is Content You Can Re-Use Forever
When you write a book, you’re not just creating one product. You’re creating a library you can slice, dice, and repackage:
Turn chapters into articles
Turn stories into newsletters
Turn frameworks into workshops or courses
Turn highlights into social posts
One book can feed your content machine for months, even years.
A Book is Easier Than You Think
If you’ve been writing consistently, you’re probably sitting on enough material to create a mini-book right now.
That’s how all of my books started, a series of articles that were already written. I just pulled them together, added transitions, and expanded on the strongest points.
What feels impossible from a blank page suddenly becomes obvious when you look at the work you already have.
You don’t need to aim for 80,000 words or the New York Times bestseller list.
A 10,000-word mini-book can be just as powerful and in many cases, more useful to your audience.
Writing a book isn’t about the size. It’s about the statement it makes, this is what I believe, and here’s the proof.
If you’ve been waiting for the right time to start, the right time is now.
This years “Write Along” begins on October 1st, we’ll plan, write, edit and publish a book in a month. Come and join us.
