What If Your Worst Content Is Potentially Your Best?
You May Have Already Written The Gamechanger!
Most people give up on their content way too early.
They write something, publish it, check the stats the next morning, and if it didn’t take off, they quietly move on.
Sometimes they’ll immediately label it a failure.
But what if that “failed” article is actually a hidden gem?
What if the idea was good, but the angle was off?
What if the story was strong, but the headline was a dog?
What if the article just needed a new angle, a new opening sentence , or a bit of tightening up?
I know this happens because I’ts happened to me recently.
Back in May, I published an article that earned $1.02. on Medium.. not even enough for a coffee
One dollar. One hundred and two cents. (it’s even worse in Euro’s!)
It was, by all accounts, a dud.
But I didn’t delete it or forget about it, I thought there was still something there.
So I reframed it.
Same core message. Different story, tighter delivery, and a headline that actually made people click.
The second version has now earned $387.74 and is still counting.
This isn’t about chasing money.
It’s about momentum. It’s about reframing what you know works.
Reframing isn’t just something an overpaid therapist will tell you.
It’s a growth tactic.
A content strategy.
A way to squeeze the value out of everything you create, even the stuff that flopped.
Most creators are sitting on a pile of “failed” content they never revisit.
That’s a waste.
If you’re writing daily or even weekly you’re building a vault of raw material. Some of it just needs a new wrapper.
Every 90 days, I revisit every article I wrote and scrutinise it.
If that 90-day-old article failed, here’s what I do.
Ask myself, Was the story clear? Was the hook strong? Did the article help the reader?
Start fresh don’t just tweak it, rewrite it from the ground up from a fresh angle.
Republish and watch what happens
Try it, you never know, you might just surprise yourself.
BTW… Create a spreadsheet with all your articles’ stats at 10,30, and 90 days, and all this becomes much easier.
This is the type of thing we do in the Inner Circle

That's great advice on reframing. We do it in life, so why not with writing? I just took a piece I posted for free on Medium three years ago and rewrote it. A new angle surfaced, and I submitted to several literary magazines. Now, I wait, yet I feel energized. Thanks for your boost!
Great idea about having a regular schedule for reviewing old articles.
